Welcome to Blakey
The Lion Inn on remote Blakey Ridge is a 16th Century family owned, Freehouse.
Located at the highest point of the North York Moors National Park, it stands at an elevation of 1,325 feet offering breathtaking views over the valleys of Rosedale and Farndale.
Steeped in history, open fires burn in the ancient stone fireplaces. The original low beamed ceilings and stone walls add to the friendly, timeless atmosphere of the Inn.


Quality Pub Grub
An extensive menu is offered including vegetarian dishes Vegan & Gluten Free , children’s meals, Sunday roasts and daily Chef’s specials.
Food served from 12pm until 9pm each day.
Bar or Restaurant
Our menu is served throughout our bar area and 3 restaurants. Pre-booking is recommended for the restaurants, the bar area is all unreserved.
Real Ale
The bar is well known for its good selection of quality real ales which include Black Sheep Best Bitter, Theakston’s Best Bitter, our award winning Old Peculier, Thwaites Wainwright Bitter, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Theakstons Quencher and a range of regularly changing guest ales.
Rooms at the Inn
The Inn is fully residential with 13 bedrooms. Each room has its own individual character and is equipped with TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
All prices are per room, per night and include breakfast
Dogs are allowed in some rooms on request and secure storage is available for cycles.
